Helen Arts & Heritage Center

Serving the Arts & Artists - Preserving Our Heritage

There are many reasons why businesses and individuals should support the arts: arts strengthen economic vitality, arts drive tourism, arts have a positive social impact, and arts encourage creativity and innovation. Arts and culture cultivate character and intellect in youth, support local business job growth, generate revenue for local governments, and create an identity for the community. Supporting Helen Arts & Heritage Center (HAHC) provides an ideal philanthropic opportunity, a tax benefit, and facilitates marketing. It is a way to leverage promotional, community outreach, and corporate responsibility goals at the same time.

As a non-profit, privately funded organization, HAHC would not be able to provide any classes, events, or maintain our history museum without your help. The class and event revenue doesn't supply all our needed income, so we rely on grants, private donors, funders and sponsors for the rest of our revenue. We are incredibly grateful for all the support and consider all who have supported us among our greatest assets.

  • Veteran Art Program - Weekly 2 hour sessions, offered at no cost to veterans and their spouse/companion where a variety of art media is taught; includes pottery making, painting, woodworking, journal making and other crafting projects.
  • Paint Therapy Program - Monthly 2 hour sessions, held on a rotating basis for AVITA Group clients in six counties in Northeast Georgia. Groups consist of 10-12 participants who live with physical and/or mental disabilities. Paint therapy is a proven means of skill building and enriching social skills for those who struggle with group environments and other social settings.
  • Students/Youth - Student Art Competition for students K-12; Art Program for Home School students; After school program for at-risk youth; Art demonstrations and presentations to students and faculty of schools in White and Habersham counties throughout the year.
  • History Program - Promotes the local history of the area, from pre-settlement to current day and includes a feature exhibit of the late John Kollock, a Clarkesville, GA native who was instrumental in the Bavarian architectural design seen in present day Helen, GA. The museum is in its third year of renovation and we are looking forward to its completion.

Marketing Exposure

If you own a business and choose to support HAHC, you can expect either your name or business logo to be seen by thousands of people through the combination of visits to our gallery and history museum, email promotion, posters and flyers in local businesses, and social media. In addition, we will support your efforts to self-promote your support of HAHC by providing logos and graphics. This will give you the benefit of demonstrating your support of the arts in your marketing materials. Not only do people love actively engaging in our community's local art, they also admire and support the businesses that have active partnerships with art and cultural organizations.

Sponsoring the services and programs of HAHC communicates a very powerful message to the community about your commitment and support of art and preserving the history of the region. Be a part of investing in this community and driving our local economy in one of the most important ways - supporting arts and heritage!
